How Does A Tire Pressure Monitoring System Work?

Underinflated tires can lead to several problems on the tires themselves and even to your safety. According to reports by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, underinflated tires can cause stress and heat buildup on the tires leading to blowouts. Underinflated tires can also decrease fuel economy. The report states that you can improve your gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent when you keep your tires inflated to the proper pressure.

It isn’t just damage to the tires themselves that happens when you don’t have them properly inflated, but your safety can be greatly compromised as well. In fact, the NHTCA found that 9 percent of all crashes in the U.S. were tire-related crashes.

Fortunately, all is not lost. The NHTSA also found that tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) reduce the likelihood of vehicles having one or more severely under inflated tires by 56 percent, and these systems were estimated to have saved more than $510 million in fuel across the vehicle fleet during 2011.

Fast forward nearly a decade, and those systems have improved significantly, with the Zus Smart Tire Safety Monitor® by Nonda being at the top of the game.

The Zus Smart Tire Safety Monitor® connects to your smartphone, giving you real-time alerts to warn you if the tire pressure is low to prevent dangerous blowouts and keep you safe on the road.

The Zus Smart Tire Safety Monitor® essentially communicates with Valve Cap Sensors that are screwed on to each tire valve. The tire monitor which is also connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, detects slow leaks by analyzing pressure and temperature on each tire, pinpointing the exact tire and rate of leakage, then sending that data to your phone in real time. With its advanced AccurateTemp® Algorithm, this monitor is the first of its kind to be able to do this.

What’s better? The app keeps track of individual tire history so you can better track the health of each of your tires.

And as simple as it may sound, it gets even simpler because the Zus Smart Tire Safety Monitor® can be installed in less than 10 minutes using these three simple steps:

1. Plug the Safety Monitor into your USB car charging port.

The monitor also has a Reversible USB charging port on the back so that you can connect your mobile device to charge, which is a great added feature.

2. Pair the Safety Monitor with your smartphone.

Using your Bluetooth connection, pair the phone with the Zus Smart Driving Assistant App®.

3. Fasten Valve Cap Sensors.

Simply unscrew the tire valve on each tire and screw the Anti-theft nut, then the Valve Sensor on each tire, then tighten the nut with the wrench provided.

And just like each of Nonda’s products, the Zus Smart Tire Safety Monitor® is designed with your car in mind to help even the oldest cars have the safety features they need to keep moving forward in today’s world .

Hi Martin,

The weight of the sensors are negligible, so you don’t have to worry about wheel rebalancing, it’s a simple plug and go situation here.

Hi,

What is the weight of the wheel sensors and dos it require the wheels to be re-balanced?

Martin
